Speechless

Not often I’m speechless… but read this. I would never have dreamt of writing such things when I was taking GCSEs, and if I had I would have expected to fail.

Henley Victory

No surprise but the Conservatives won Henley with 57% of the vote….
There were however a few key points from this by-election:

The much trumpted Lib Dem by-election machine didn’t make any significant impact.
Labour lost their deposit with a humiliating 3% of the vote.

I have (not) defected

One of my friends has just sent me a link to a website saying I’m a Labour Cllr for Battle Ward. I can confirm that the last time I checked I am a Conservative Cllr for Caversham Ward.

Returning Officer Blog

Update: See the press [...]

David Davis

I happened to get back from an early lunch break to find out that David Davis had resigned. BBC had it as breaking news on the website but with no detail about why. After recovering from my initial shock, I discovered that he was doing it to make a point about 42 days detention. I [...]

Graffiti

Today Cllrs Andrew Cumpsty, Tom Stanway and I launched an anti-graffiti campaign in Caversham. We are asking for local residents who have any information on Graffiti in Caversham to report it, so we can get this pointless drain on resources stopped. We will also be meeting with Council officers in the next couple of weeks [...]
